Rourkela Institute of Technology ( RIT ), the first professional institute of its kind in western Orissa and situated near the confluence of river Sankha and Koel adjoining the industrial city of Rourkela bordering Orissa and Jharkhand enjoys the reputation of providing quality education in both Technical and management courses for more than two decade since its formation in the mid eighties of the departed century. It was established in the year 1984 under the Sponsorship of Rourkela Technical Education Society (RTES) duly registered under society registration act 1860.
